Inducted into the American Motorcycle Charity Newsie Motorcycle Hall of Fame in Columbus, Ohio, in 1979. Winner of National Championships in 3-mile, 5-mile and 10-mile races on half-mile dirt tracks. Also set records for 5-mile and 10-mile records on a mile track. All races won on Harley Davidson WR's without brakes. Ranked 3rd among nation's dirt track riders when a broken leg sidelined him in 1938.
