Michigan Lightweight Boxing Champion in 1930. Won 79 of 89 bouts beginning in 1927. A great crowd pleaser: quick, fast and a hard hitter. Worked with Fred Vincent and served as coach and trainer of the Blue Water Golden Gloves Club – Michigan's most successful amateur boxing program – in the 1940's and 1950's.
